All Women’s Kite Progression Weekend

July 18 - 19, 2026

Do You want to progress your Kiteboarding?

Group Size: 7 rad ladies
Kite Level: Intermediate (staying upwind)

A focused weekend in Hood River can do more for your kiteboarding than a whole season of solo sessions. We've watched women land tricks in two days that they'd been chasing for years. This all-women's progression camp is built around small groups, personalized coaching, and the kind of conditions that make Hood River one of the best kite spots in the Pacific Northwest.

With a small, supportive crew of women, you’ll get hands-on coaching, off-the-water tips, and everything you need to step into your next level with confidence, on and off the water.

Camp Highlights

The Kiteboarding

Hood River & the greater Columbia Gorge is the epicenter for kiteboarding in the PNW. It’s windy almost every day in the Summer and conditions range from steady 20’s to strong and gusty. This will be an empowering group setting for women to lean into progression! Specific location is subject to change depending on conditions.

This weekend is for intermediate riders, you’ll have to be able to stay upwind (or at least almost, we can help with the rest).

Lunch from Local Fave

We believe good food fuels great sessions. That’s why we provide a fresh, healthy lunch from one of our favorite local lunch spots—made with seasonal ingredients and plenty of flavor. Drinks are included, so all you have to do is show up, relax, and enjoy a nourishing meal that keeps you energized for the afternoon on the water.

Multiple small white plates with quinoa salad topped with roasted vegetables and avocado, on a wooden table with a decorative cloth underneath.

Don’t take our word for it.

Real results from real women who showed up a little nervous and left with new skills, new friends and an whole new relationship with their kite sessions.

This camp was amazing. I saved literally years in my progression. Even before the camp started, I was able to master a trick just from our pre-camp call. In two days I was able to learn/try 4 new things. That could have easily taken me 4 years, at least, on my own.

  • Leigh Wager

The camps are small enough that each coach knows exactly what everyone is working on and you can really get 1:1, personalized attention with the benefit of the community of the group. They are able to show you tricks on the water, watch you and give you tips right there, as you are working on it.

  • Darcy Scheller

I can’t say enough about this incredible experience! The coaching was absolutely extraordinary. The instruction was key to my wing foil progress, and they brought the perfect balance of patience, humor, direct feedback, and inspiration. Beyond the coaching, the entire experience was flawlessly organized. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the day-to-day schedule ran like clockwork, allowing us to focus entirely on learning and having fun. And let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! Pair that with a breathtaking location, and it truly felt like paradise.

The All Women Strut Kiteboarding Camp in Baja was exactly what I was hoping for. It was a week of top notch instruction from 2 pro women kiters with a supportive group of like minded women. Nadja and Sensi create an environment where women support each other and nurture positivity. I felt comfortable expressing what made me nervous and then learned the skills to overcome my fears. The house we stayed at was right on the beach and the food was delicious. I highly recommend these Strut kiteboarding camps to anyone who wants to improve their kiting skills and build community in this sport!"

  • Michelle Edwards

The Strut camp was special from the moment of arrival. The accommodations and setting were stunning. The food was fresh, healthy, delicious, and plentiful. Sensi and Nadja made everyone feel comfortable and focused on our strengths from the beginning, encouraging each of us to build on what we already did well and grow our confidence with on and off the water skills. I met amazing women with whom I plan to kite in the future. I entered camp still intimidated by the wind and others on the beach. I left more assured in my ability to manage situations and progressed my skills on the water. Definitely sign up for a camp- you won’t regret it!

About Hood River, Oregon

The Town

Hood River is our home.

We've kited and winged here more times than we can count. We know which spots work in which conditions, where to be when the wind shifts, and how to read the Gorge in a way that only comes from years on this water. When you come to camp, you get insider access to one of the best wind spots in the world, from people who know it like their backyard. Because it is.

Hood River sits in the Columbia River Gorge about an hour east of Portland, and in the summer it's windy almost every single day.

Getting Here:

Coming from Portland? Head East on I-84, following signs to Hood River. We’re only an hour away!

Seattle local? Head south on I-5 to 205S to I-84E.

Flying in? The closest airport is PDX.

The meeting point will be communicated prior to day 1.

The Wind

During the summer, the winds are typically 15 to 25 mph (24 to 40 km/h) on most days, but they can gust higher, especially in the afternoon. Some days, the winds can reach 30 mph (48 km/h) or more. This makes the area a prime spot for wind-powered sports. The predominant winds in the summer are west to east winds that come from the Pacific Ocean, funneled through the Columbia River Gorge. In the morning, the wind tends to be lighter and more variable, but it picks up speed as the day goes on, typically reaching its peak in the afternoon.

The Water

The Columbia River warms to 60–70°F by midsummer — refreshing, not freezing. This makes it quite enjoyable! Especially for activities like windsurfing, kiteboarding, and wingfoiling.
